Launch Event – Gender in energy policy and implementation – 25 May, 2021

May 25, 2021 – May 25, 2021
01:00 pm – 03:00 pm

Welcome to the launch event and workshop for the UsersTCP Task on Gender and Energy.

At the event we will present our newest task on gender and energy use. This task will address gender as a factor on the user side.  The new task is called “Empowering all: Gender in policy and implementation for achieving transitions to sustainable energy“(Gender and Energy for short) , and it aims to apply gender perspectives to support the participating countries in their work to design a more efficient and inclusive energy system, and through this also support ongoing efforts to foster energy transitions. This is particularly pressing now, as countries develop measures to mitigate the social and economic costs of the current COVID-19 crisis.

Furthermore, the C3E TCP, which is the other gender related TCP within the IEA will participate to make use of and develop the global networks around our projects even more. Together these programs represent an international cross-section of Gender and Energy related efforts and research.

Therefore, we invite you to a launch and networking event where we will present the new task on Gender and Energy, as well as discuss the current work of the C3E, and explore the synergies between the projects. We invite everyone with an interest in these issues to join us for an interactive event that we hope will extend our networks and deepen the understanding of where we stand today on these issues.
